  Do you think they'll get rid of the word "Whitewash".... it has racist connotations by indicating that covering over over wrongdoing is something that originates with white people.

  it is a challenge next sunday for them .

  due to starting the convention programme the wt study will be a 30 minute run through ,and deals with this prophecy ... i doubt the younger ones are familiar with it at all bur oldies could debate it at length .we on the look out for the king of the north to enter "the land of decoration" (more to follow,maybe next week).

  this article makes a grand claim in par 2.

  my mother became a witness right after i was born.

  1951. i was indoctrinated from that time forward for 50 yrs.

  during that time i did not hear anything about the 2 witness rule as applied to child molestation.

  I threw all but a few choice pieces of literature I wanted to keep as evidence, into the paper recycling bin. Then I suddenly remembered those old District Assembly and JW Yearbook experiences where someone supposedly found a discarded piece of literature and eventually became a JW.

  I took everything back out of the recycling bin and had a good ol' time for myself ripping it to shreds to make sure that no one else's life would be ruined by it and no one else would die from lack of blood the way my Father did . It was quite cathartic.

  I saw this story a few months ago and it reminded me of when I was about 6 or 7 we had a cat that I was particularly fond of and she was also fond of me and that meant a lot to me. One night she kept jumping up onto my bed and back down off of it, meowing loudly until I woke up and followed her to a closet down the hall. Once I was there, she jumped into a cardboard box containing some old clothes and she began having kittens right there in front of me. I was touched that she chose to come and get me rather than my parents or my siblings and insisted that I follow her to the closet before she would begin giving birth.

  Since I was a kid, I have always had (what I imagine to be) a special bond with animals and I could never understand why God made it so that even though they were innocent, they too were punished along with mankind. Looking back, I even resented him for this among a lot other unfair and unkind things he allowed to happen in this world.

  Even though this story had a happy ending, the way my brain is wired, I can't help but wonder about all the animals who are mistreated or who don't get the help they need or who die in the wild of illnesses or injuries not to mention eaten by another animal . I can't stand seeing those Sara McLachlan animal cruelty ads on TV. I have to immediately switch them off.

  my elementary school teacher, miss allen, gathered us in a circle just outside the classroom under overspreading limbs of a pecan tree.

  as she spoke, we all listened intently - the expression on her face seemed to say, "this is very important.".

  "sometimes life doesn't go so well and we feel afraid.

  It must be noted that although her students loved her dearly, school districts officials had long suspected that Miss Allen didn't always have both oars in the water.

  Several weeks later the beloved Teacher was apprehended while consuming a Marijuana cigarette behind a Pecan tree just outside her classroom while her students were at recess and was sent up river to the Ft Worth Women's Correctional Center.

  Who's merrily paddling their boat now, Miss Allen?

  I don't feel badly about my actions or attitudes toward people of other races but I do feel badly that because of my skin color that they may automatically assume, now more than ever before that I am somehow against them. This of course would be racist on their part but in today's climate, it seems that it's only wrong for white people to make assumptions about people based on the color of their skin.

  it's long overdue, i know, and i apologise profusely but it's tough working full-time and trying to spend time on all the ex-jw work that i want to do...... that said - here are the 2018 survey results for anyone interested and i am already working on the 2019 results.

  Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name

  all my jw life i was reminded constantly about the importance of not bringing reproach on jehovah's name.

  decisions on whether or not to disfellowship an individual often turned, not on the seriousness of the sin, but on whether the incident was public knowledge and had resulted in bad publicity for the congregation.

  i recall a middle-aged lady being reported to the elders for shoplifting a sweet worth less than £1- and the elders' insistence that a judicial committee must be formed because the store manager and staff knew that she was a jw (i successfully argued that all she needed was support for her dreadful family life, but that's another story).

  In view of all the bad P.R they're getting, I'm sure there are many many JW's in Australia who are very glad that the preaching work has been put on hold for Covid 19. Can you imagine what sitting ducks they'd be if they were to stand on a sidewalk with a cart or go from door right now?

  Have You Lost Any “Friends” Because Of Your Political Views?

  i have lost a couple of fb friends.

  i have had conversations with many of my friends regarding politics and since we generally view politics in the same way, there is little dissension.

  however i do have some friends that don’t see things properly, my way, and i still like them.🤗lol....i know of some families that have stopped talking to each other because of something as stupid as political differences..
